Ultra-compact blue indicator LED in the 0402 footprint (1.0 × 0.5mm). Blue at 460–475nm is widely used for power-present indication, identification lighting, and mode status in modern equipment designs. The high-energy blue emission is visually distinctive from red, green, and amber indicators, making it effective for differentiated status communication on dense indicator panels.
Blue LEDs have a relatively narrow forward voltage tolerance — current-limiting resistor values should be calculated conservatively to avoid over-drive. Operating temperature −40°C to +85°C.
Detailed electrical and optical characteristics
Blue LEDs show tighter wavelength control requirements than red or amber — a few nanometres of shift produces a perceptible hue change from pure blue toward violet or cyan. CMH's controlled production process holds blue emission within the 460–475nm band consistently across orders, ensuring the characteristic blue appearance that modern equipment designs specify.
