Red reverse-mount (bottom-emitting) LED in the 1206 footprint (3.2 × 1.6 × 1.1mm). Emits downward through the PCB into a light pipe or diffuser beneath the board, allowing LED placement on the component side while illuminating indicators or labels on the opposite side — eliminating hole-drilling or bezel hardware in panel designs. Red emission at 620–625nm. IV 300–450mcd at 20mA. PCB requires a matching aperture below the LED body. Operating temperature −40°C to +85°C.
Detailed electrical and optical characteristics
Reverse-mount applications often involve uniform panel backlighting where multiple LEDs are visible simultaneously — making intensity and color variation between batches immediately obvious. CMH's controlled supply of the S1206RM series maintains consistent 300–450mcd output and matched wavelength across all orders, ensuring uniform panel illumination without manual bin sorting.
Bottom-emitting through PCB aperture. PCB requires matching cutout below package footprint.
