White side-emitting LED in the 1606 package (1.6 × 0.6mm). White side-emitting LEDs are specified for keyboard and membrane backlight applications where the LED must be mounted flat on the PCB and inject light laterally into a light guide film or diffuser layer above the PCB surface. The 1606 footprint allows very low assembly height, which is critical in slim-profile keypads and membrane overlay assemblies.

Broadband white emission with a neutral white color point. Forward voltage 1.9–2.2V at 20mA. Operating temperature −40°C to +85°C.

Keyboard and membrane backlight assemblies require extremely consistent white point across all LED positions — a single off-white LED in a backlit keypad is visually obvious to end users.
